By the grace of Waheguru Ji, Manukhta de Sewa Parivar got the opportunity to serve Veer Manish Kumar, a former Mr. Punjab, on 22-12-2025, along with serving his respected mother, Mata Jagir Kaur Ji.
Veer Manish belongs to Village Mehdipur Araiyan, Jalandhar, where his family is living in extreme poverty inside a dilapidated and unsafe house. Due to his worsening mental condition, Veer Manish was kept chained in a broken outer room of the house, as he often caused severe damage inside the home and became uncontrollable. This heartbreaking situation stands in sharp contrast to his glorious past, as he once held the prestigious Mr. Punjab title and won several major bodybuilding championships, earning admiration and respect across the state.
Today, at just 35–36 years of age, this once-strong athlete has reached a tragic state where he is unable to walk properly or care for himself. Witnessing her young son tied with chains deeply affected his mother, Mata Jagir Kaur Ji, pushing her into severe mental distress. Already suffering from physical disabilities and complete loss of eyesight, she is now confined to her bed, helpless and dependent on others for even basic needs.
Manish’s younger brother shared that after the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, Manish was forced to stop going to the gym and discontinue his bodybuilding career. The sudden break from his disciplined lifestyle and passion gradually led to mental imbalance. Over time, he became increasingly aggressive and emotionally unstable. For the past two years, he has completely lost awareness of his actions.
Due to frequent incidents of running away from home and damaging property, and because the family could not afford proper medical treatment, they were left with no option but to restrain him with chains for safety. This painful reality shows how lack of timely mental health care and poverty can destroy even the strongest lives.
We humbly request everyone to pray that Veer Manish and his mother regain their health, find relief from their suffering, and get a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope. ๐
